Classic Wedding Colors for 2018
2018 is well under way and the Pantone Spring 2018 Fashion Color Trend Report has been out for some time now. There's been a lot of hype about Pantone's color of the year, Ultra Violet, but not much buzz surrounding their Classic Color Palette. Yes, we know, classic can have a strong connotation at times. What's that...boring, you say? We beg to differ. Merriam-Webster defines classic as "serving as a standard of excellence." That pretty much sums it up for us. While we definitely love the many bright, beautiful color palettes that are trending in 2018, we do maintain an appreciation for the classics. This year's group is composed of Sailor Blue, Harbor Mist, Warm Sand, and Coconut Milk. Sailor Blue serves to anchor the palette, Harbor Mist solidifies the group, Warm Sand connects the seasons, and Coconut Milk represents the classic mainstay of a white/off-white for the spring 2018 season according to Pantone.
While these colors definitely feel at home near a misty waterfront breeze, they work with every theme ranging from a rustic barn wedding to an elegant ballroom event. Navy blue is a tried and true option that has earned a place near the top of the classic color chart with its long track record of popularity. Because this color has some whiskers, so to speak, it makes an exceptional anchor for this palette.
Wedding flower options are abundant with many neutral toned flower varieties to choose from. Spraying or dying is also an option if you want a deep, rich color that nature doesn't provide. While natural is always our first choice for wedding flower colors, we do modify our bouquets as needed to produce the picture perfect end result our brides are looking for.
